Products/Non Top-Coated

Non Top-Coated Direct Thermal materials is used for well controlled, short term labeling where there is very little chance of the image being contaminated. These materials are also known as ‘Unprotected’ thermals. Most in-store printed price-weight labeling of fresh produce (fish, delicatessen, self-weigh fruit and vegetables etc.) use this quality. At Smith & McLaurin we offer two types of Non Top-Coated Direct Thermal substrates:

 

  • Economy Range: Consists of papers coated with a thermal coating and typically used for information labeling in dry environments such as point-of-sale marketing and other retail use. Cannot be brought in contact with water, plasticizers and fat.
  • Semi-Resistant Range: consists of specially developed thermal grade with inbuilt resistance to PVC, stretch-wrap, oil, grease and water - without a protective top-coat.

Special direct thermal product which allows user to specify the background shade to avoid a colourwash process and extend thermal print-head lifespan. Also used for corporate promotions and tracking/logistics.
