Security Materials From Smith & McLaurin [return]
A sample from our range of tamper-evident security materials.

At Smith & McLaurin we offer a selection of security materials including a wide range of void label materials, destructible filmics, tamper evident and our own brand Colourcore/Entatag products.

Void Labels contain a hidden graphic and leave behind a residual message when they are peeled away. Common residual messages include “VOID” or "OPENED"; may simply be a checkerboard pattern; or can even include a custom tamper indication message. We currently offer customers the option of purchasing a matt white, blue, or matt silver version of our PET VOID 50 which is available with a broad range of adhesive combinations. Our void material is extremely versatile and is used as either warranty labels or to seal a wide range of items, from shipping cartons to evidence bags!

Our VOID material offers customers considerable price advantage against alternate products in the market as well as the benefit of lower minimum-order levels. As always with any of our products, we can create bespoke constructions based on your requirements so please contact us.

Destructible Labels are predominantly used for warranty labels or for certificates of authenticity on a wide variety of products and indicate evidence of tampering by shredding or self-destructing when removed. Our Transfer PE 60 Destructible material is currently being used extensively by our customers in Europe, particularly in Ireland and Germany. Our clients benefit from having a very competitively priced material which can be up to 80% less expensive than alternative products; they can also run their converting machines at up to ten times the speed of other products which perform similar roles.

Our own brand Colourcore or Entatag Labels/Tags are security products with a coloured centre board (available in blue, red, green and yellow) which can be purchased as a dry tag with a thermally responsive coating or as part of a self-adhesive construction with or without a thermal coating. It is a specialty security product which offers the added benefit of being a cheaper alternative to using holographic labels. . Applications have included phone cards, entry tickets and for promotional merchandise. The composition of our products provides distinct advantages given its 100% opacity level and tamper evident features.

RFID Chip Carrier Labels/Tags Whilst we do not actually manufacture RFID labels we do have various products which allow our customers to include either a magnetic stripe; an RFID chip; or even their own printed security material and create an enclosed security feature. The contents of each construction can be hidden further by using our block-out adhesive at the back.

All of the above security constructions are only a sample of some of the many applications for which we have developed bespoke security labels or tags. Naturally, we can not promote or show you our higher level products or specific products given the obvious sensitivities To discuss your own unique security requirements in the strictest of confidence or for any further information please contact Scott Coates our AdaptUltra Project Manager on +44 (0) 1505 707700 or email him at scott.coates@smcl.co.uk
