Graham Clark completes Great Scottish Run [return]
Graham Clark our Technical Manager raises money for his chosen charity at this years Great Scottish Run.

On the 6th September, Graham Clark our Technical Manager completed the Great Scottish Run (10K) held in Glasgow, in a staggering 56 minutes (about 5 minutes faster than he initially expected !). Graham raised over £700 for his chosen charity CLASS and should be able to add an additional 28% as gift aid.

CLASS stands for Communication, Language and Support Services and is based in Graham’s local area East Dunbartonshire and supports all of the local schools that have special resources for children with speech and language problems including autism. The charity’s main focus is to raise money for extra facilities both within schools and also for extra curricular activities, which often require funds outside the schools normal areas of funding.

The schools in East Dunbartonshire supporting children with speech and language problems are now regarded as centres of excellence for the way they help and teach children, but they still do not have the resources to pay for these additional activities that children in many schools take for granted.

Activities already arranged include music classes, dance classes and dry ski slope classes. These activities can greatly improve confidence, balance and communication and the results can already be seen from their happy, healthy and confident students.

We would like to congratulate Graham on his recent success and hope to see him again in next year’s race with all of us from Smith & McLaurin cheering him on.
