The proliferation of digital printing technology over the last few years has been astounding! With a market place clamouring for short-run flexibility, increased customisation and of course higher print speeds - digital printing has filled a niche in the pacakaging industry, which has been lacking for a long time.
Digital printing offers both the customer and the end user, high quality, cost-effective, customisable labels with an incredibly fast turnaround.
Digital printing serves a variety of applications including:
- Promotional Labels: Short-run jobs on a digital press are ideal for on-product, promotional offers including BOGOF's and multipack deals.
- Personalised Labels: Jobs requiring on-press variable data such as name badges, direct mail and ID cards.
- Barcode/Serial Labels: Jobs requiring sequential numbers for bar coding or product identification, inventory control and distribution tracking.
- Alterations to Labels: Jobs that require any last minute changes.
Smith & McLaurin Ltd has a rapidly growing range of digitally printable materials which have been tested and approved by our extensive digital-ready customer base. These materials are available with a proprietary print-friendly top-coating which gives excellent transfer and anchorage of the Elektroink used in the HP Indigo WS4500 & WS6000 imaging process.
Unlike other laminators on the market we also sell Gloss, Satin and White PP face stocks that do not require a top coat and in turn, offers our customers even higher cost and time savings.
Apart from being tried and tested on the HP Indigo presses we are also in the process of testing this range on other available digital printing technologies.
Finally, within our AdaptDigi Range we can offer you alternative combinations of our digitally printable face materials and our wide range of adhesives and liners. We also undertake custom coating commissons; offer a strip-coating service and can create multi-layer constructions, based on our customers' specification.
